Amman: His Majesty King Abdullah II on Wednesday received United States House of Representatives Democratic Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and a delegation of accompanying lawmakers. The meeting, attended by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, focused on the strategic ties between Jordan and the United States and explored ways to enhance cooperation.

According to Jordan News Agency, the discussion also addressed regional developments. His Majesty emphasized the need to end the war on Gaza, resume the flow of aid, and support the Arab plan to reconstruct Gaza without displacing its residents. He underscored the United States' crucial role in supporting regional stabilization efforts.

The King expressed concern over the ongoing Israeli attacks on Palestinians in the West Bank and the violations of Muslim and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem. He reiterated the necessity of creating a political horizon to achieve just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution, which aims to fulfill the legitimate rights of Palestinians.

The meeting also covered the situations in Syria and Lebanon, highlighting broader regional challenges. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and Director of the Office of His Majesty Alaa Batayneh were also in attendance.
