Brussels: His Majesty King Abdullah II on Tuesday held meetings in Brussels with North Atlantic Treaty Organisation Secretary General Mark Rutte and the foreign ministers of NATO member states, according to a royal court statement. The meetings, attended by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, focused on enhancing Jordan's diplomatic and defence partnership with NATO. Discussions emphasized the importance of maintaining coordination on issues of mutual concern to support both regional and international stability. According to Jordan News Agency, the talks also addressed current regional developments, with King Abdullah II advocating for comprehensive regional calm to break the cycle of violence. The King stressed the urgency of ending the Israeli war on Gaza and strengthening the humanitarian response in the area. He highlighted the necessity of halting extremist settler violence against Palestinians in the West Bank. Furthermore, King Abdullah II emphasized the importance of ensuring the success of the ceasefire in Lebanon, reaffirming Jordan's commitment to Lebanon's security, sovereignty, and the welfare of its citizens. When discussing the situation in Syria, the King expressed Jordan's support for Syria's territorial integrity, sovereignty, and stability. The meeting was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Director of the Office of His Majesty Alaa Batayneh, and Jordan's Ambassador to Belgium Yousef Bataineh.
