Shanghai: His Majesty King Abdullah II, during his visit to Shanghai, met with CEOs of leading Chinese companies to explore opportunities for economic cooperation and the exchange of expertise. The discussions took place on Tuesday, highlighting the potential for strengthening bilateral ties between Jordan and China.
According to Jordan News Agency, the meeting was organised in collaboration with the Shanghai Council for the Promotion of International Trade. His Majesty was accompanied by Their Royal Highnesses Prince Hashem bin Abdullah II and Princess Salma bint Abdullah II. King Abdullah II underscored Jordan's commitment to enhancing relations with China, with a focus on expanding economic and investment partnerships across various sectors.
The King highlighted Jordan's recent advancements in improving the business environment, its strategic location as a gateway to regional and global markets, and the availability of a skilled workforce. These factors make Jordan an attractive destination for Chinese investments and collaborations.
Representatives from companies in the pharmaceutical, food, engineering, agricultural, and aviation sectors attended the meeting. They expressed keen interest in exploring opportunities for collaboration with Jordan's public and private sectors, signaling a positive outlook for future partnerships.
The meeting was also attended by Director of the Office of His Majesty Alaa Batayneh, Minister of Industry, Trade, and Supply Yarub Qudah, Jordan's Ambassador to China Hussam Husseini, and China's Ambassador to Jordan Guo Wei.
