Amman: His Majesty King Abdullah II inaugurated the second ordinary session of the 20th Parliament, delivering the Speech from the Throne to mark the occasion. The event was held in a formal setting at the Parliament, attended by key dignitaries and members of the diplomatic corps.
According to Jordan News Agency, the King began his speech by acknowledging the resilience and strength of Jordan in the face of ongoing crises. He credited the nation's growth and stability to the determination and unity of the Jordanian people, emphasizing their role as the backbone and most valuable asset of the country. Despite the challenges, King Abdullah highlighted the progress made through reforms, while urging continued efforts to enhance political modernization, economic growth, and public sector development.
The King also addressed the importance of improving the education and healthcare systems, as well as modernizing the transport sector to boost development and quality of life. He reaffirmed Jordan's commitment to supporting Gaza amid the ongoing crisis and maintaining its historical role in safeguarding Jerusalem's holy sites under Hashemite Custodianship.
At the ceremony, King Abdullah was accompanied by Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II and received by the heads of government branches and senior officials. The event was attended by Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah, members of the Royal Family, and various dignitaries, underscoring the significance of the occasion.
