Tokyo: His Majesty King Abdullah II is scheduled to begin a working visit to Japan on Saturday, marking the first stop on an extensive Asian working tour that includes Vietnam, Singapore, Indonesia, and Pakistan. The tour aims to bolster cooperation and strengthen partnerships, particularly focusing on economic and investment sectors between Jordan and these nations.
According to Jordan News Agency, in Tokyo, King Abdullah II will engage in discussions with Emperor Naruhito, Prime Minister Takaichi Sanae, and other Japanese ministers and officials. The King is also expected to meet with representatives from the Japan International Cooperation Agency, the Japan External Trade Organisation, and various Japanese companies to explore potential collaborations.
In Hanoi, the King will hold talks with Vietnamese President Luong Cuong and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, along with several senior officials. His Majesty is also scheduled to participate in the Vietnam-Jordan Business Forum, which will include representatives from the private sectors of both countries, and a dialogue session aimed at exploring partnership opportunities in the textile industry.
During his visit to Singapore, King Abdullah II will meet with President Tharman Shanmugaratnam and Prime Minister Lawrence Wong. The discussions will focus on enhancing bilateral relations and exploring new avenues for cooperation.
In Jakarta, King Abdullah II is due to meet with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and engage with representatives of the Indonesian sovereign wealth fund, Danantara Indonesia. The discussions are expected to cover various aspects of mutual interest, including economic collaboration.
The King will conclude his tour in Pakistan after meetings with President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Throughout the tour, Jordan is slated to sign cooperation agreements and memorandums of understanding with Japan, Indonesia, and Pakistan, further solidifying the relationships and ensuring continued cooperation in various sectors.
