Amman: His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army, visited the Directorate of the Royal Engineering Corps on Monday, accompanied by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II. During the visit, they were provided with a detailed briefing on the directorate's achievements, particularly in general engineering support and the handling of unexploded ordnance.
According to Jordan News Agency, the director of the Royal Engineering Corps outlined the procedures for dealing with remnants of missiles and drones and emphasized the corps' role in supporting engineering efforts along the border. His Majesty, joined by Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti, also had the opportunity to tour an exhibition showcasing the corps' latest machinery, devices, and technical equipment. A model of newly developed defensive trenches designed to enhance the defensive capabilities of Border Guard units was also presented.
His Majesty received a briefing on the production capabilities of the Jubilee Defence Supplies Factory. This factory specializes in producing barbed wire for border protection and supplies defense and military materials to all JAF formations. It was established under the supervision of the Directorate of Housing Establishment and Military Works through the Arabian International Construction and Contracting Company, which is owned by the JAF, adhering to the highest international specifications and standards.
The King expressed his appreciation for the engineering corps' state of readiness, efficiency, developments, and commitment to the latest standards and practices.
