Abu Dhabi: His Majesty King Abdullah II and United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan convened a meeting in Abu Dhabi to address regional developments and the enduring bilateral relations between their nations. The discussions emphasized the robust ties between Jordan and the United Arab Emirates, with both leaders expressing a commitment to enhancing cooperation across all sectors to pave the way for a comprehensive economic partnership. According to Jordan News Agency, the leaders called for intensified efforts to cease hostilities in Gaza and Lebanon, underscoring the importance of protecting civilians in line with international humanitarian law. They advocated for increased humanitarian aid to Gaza to alleviate the ongoing crisis. Additionally, both leaders highlighted the importance of preventing regional escalation and stressed the need for a political solution based on the two-state paradigm to ensure lasting peace and stability. King Abdullah II expressed concern over the pot ential consequences of unilateral Israeli actions against Palestinians in the West Bank and the violations at religious sites in Jerusalem. The discussions further reinforced Jordan and the UAE's unwavering support for Lebanon's unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, along with their solidarity with the Lebanese populace. The meeting was attended by key Jordanian officials, including Prime Minister Jafar Hassan, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, and Director of the Office of His Majesty Alaa Batayneh. The Emirati delegation included Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, among other officials.
