Zarqa: His Majesty King Abdullah II on Monday visited the Hassan Khaled Abu Al Huda Comprehensive Secondary School for Boys in Zarqa, assessing one of Jordan's oldest vocational schools, established in 1974. His Majesty aimed to evaluate the school's needs and enhance its facilities and workshops to align with efforts to advance vocational education.
According to Jordan News Agency, King Abdullah, joined by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, toured the school's workshops. The principal briefed them on the programs in carpentry, automotive mechanics, air conditioning, and refrigeration, showcasing the school's vocational education and training methods. The King interacted with students and teachers, extending his wishes for a successful academic year.
The school employs the British Business and Technology Education Council (BTEC) system, offering vocational qualifications and certifications. This system combines practical learning with theoretical education, equipping students with skills for the job market. The school's facilities span 35 dunums, featuring buildings, workshops, and laboratories.
Accompanying His Majesty were Royal Hashemite Court Chief Yousef Issawi, Director of the Office of His Majesty Alaa Batayneh, and Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Azmi Mahafzah.
