Beirut: Lebanese President Michel Aoun has urged the international community to shoulder its responsibilities and fulfill its pledges to Lebanon. In a speech delivered Saturday evening at Dar al-Fatwa, Aoun emphasized the need for actionable support to translate international stances into concrete steps.
According to Jordan News Agency, Aoun highlighted the importance of implementing UN Resolution 1701 and the ceasefire agreement, which he described as crucial issues requiring attention. He stressed that Lebanon cannot achieve stability and prosperity amid ongoing tensions along its southern borders.
Aoun pointed out that normal life in the affected areas of Lebanon hinges on the enforcement of international resolutions. These resolutions, he noted, should ensure Lebanon's sovereignty, security, and stability, alongside the withdrawal of Israeli forces and the return of Lebanese detainees.
