Rabat: Speaker of the Lower House of Representatives Mazen Al-Qadi concluded his official visit to the Moroccan Parliament with meetings with Moroccan Minister of Economic Inclusion, Small Business, Employment and Skills Younes Sekkouri and Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation Azzedine El Midaoui. These discussions emphasized the solid relationship between Jordan and Morocco under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II and His Majesty King Mohammed VI, focusing on enhancing parliamentary cooperation for the benefit of both nations.
According to Jordan News Agency, Al-Qadi expressed gratitude to Minister Sekkouri for establishing a vocational training center in Jordan. He highlighted the significance of adopting Moroccan vocational training methods to improve Jordanians' practical skills and readiness for the labor market. This collaboration aims to create training programs that lead directly to employment, strengthening Jordanian-Moroccan cooperation in vocational education.
Al-Qadi also emphasized the importance of supporting initiatives for small and medium-sized enterprises, drawing on Morocco's experience in promoting entrepreneurship. This collaboration seeks to provide sustainable employment solutions and facilitate the exchange of knowledge and expertise between professionals from both countries.
Minister Sekkouri announced plans to establish a distinguished Jordanian-Moroccan integrated vocational training institute in Amman, reflecting the strategic partnership's depth. He confirmed Morocco's readiness to share its successful vocational training models, which have effectively reduced unemployment and equipped youth with market-relevant skills.
In a separate meeting with Minister El Midaoui, Al-Qadi reaffirmed the strong historical and fraternal ties between Jordan and Morocco. The discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in higher education and scientific research, which are seen as strategic pillars for human resource development. Al-Qadi advocated for increased scholarship and student exchange programs to broaden educational horizons and facilitate cultural and knowledge exchange.
Minister El Midaoui praised Jordan's educational achievements and supported expanding scholarship programs and academic exchanges. He highlighted the general recognition of university degrees between the two countries and emphasized the importance of signing an agreement on this matter during the upcoming Jordanian-Moroccan Joint Committee meetings.
Members of the parliamentary delegation, representing various political blocs, noted that the visit provided a valuable opportunity to strengthen bilateral cooperation. They emphasized that the meetings established practical pathways for expertise exchange and partnership development, serving the interests of both nations.
The delegation underscored the role of parliamentary diplomacy in supporting Jordanian-Moroccan relations, asserting that continuous communication between parliaments aids in unifying positions, exchanging legislative expertise, and fostering cooperation across political, economic, and educational fields.
During his visit, Al-Qadi engaged with several Moroccan officials, including Speaker of the Moroccan House of Representatives Rachid Talbi Alami and Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita. He also met with Jordanian students studying in Morocco and paid respects at the Moroccan royal mausoleums.
