Lower House Speaker Meets Youth Body, Urges Political Participation

Amman: Lower House Speaker Mazen Qadi on Monday urged expanding youth participation in political and parliamentary life at a meeting with the Karama and Al-Wafaa Youth Authority.

According to Jordan News Agency, Qadi called for an expanded dialogue session bringing the group's youth together with heads of parliamentary blocs, giving them a platform to air their views and discuss legislative work. The emphasis was placed on creating opportunities for young people to engage directly with the legislative process and to convey their perspectives on pertinent national issues.

Head of the Karama and Al-Wafaa Youth Authority, retired Maj. Gen. Wael Ajilat, spoke of the need to move young people from theoretical knowledge to practical experience to enhance their political and national awareness. Ajilat stressed the importance of young people actively participating in political processes to develop a deeper understanding and commitment to their country's governance.

The youth authority's team also met with Lower House member Suleiman al-Zaben, who took the group to the chamber's gallery to observe part of a parliamentary session on the local administration bill. This firsthand experience was aimed at providing the youth with a clearer insight into parliamentary proceedings and the legislative process.
