Public Security Directorate (PSD) Director Maj. Gen. Obaidallah Maaytah on Wednesday honored a number of its athletes, who achieved "remarkable" accomplishments and "advanced" positions during their participation in various sports competitions, especially at the international level. Speaking to the honored atheletes, Maaytah stressed the PSD's keenness to implement directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces, in supporting the efforts made to win awards for Jordan and support Jordanian youth to achieve accomplishments in all fields, including sports. Maaytah also noted the PSD represents a "model" in supporting Jordanian athletes and providing the "appropriate" climate for them to excel and win local and international championships. Furthermore, he noted the honoring reflects the directorate's interest in its personnel by providing moral support and meeting all logistical and technical needs, in cooperation with sports federations and the Jordan Olympic Com mittee (JOC). Maaytah called on the PSD's sports federation and its athletes to continue further efforts, expressing appreciation for the JOC's "great" role, headed by His Highness Prince Faisal bin Al Hussein, and the Kingdom's sports federations, under continuous cooperation and partnership to advance Jordanian sports.
