Madaba: The Greater Madaba Municipality has announced a JD1 million tender to address significant rainwater pooling areas identified during the previous rainy season. Municipal crews have pinpointed 13 high-priority sites for upgrades, aiming to resolve drainage challenges and enhance local infrastructure before the onset of colder weather.
According to Jordan News Agency, the Mayor of Madaba, Haitham Juwainat, stated that the tender is the result of a comprehensive assessment that mapped critical flood zones across all municipal districts. The project is designed to target these high-priority sites throughout the municipality, with the objective of optimizing spending, improving drainage, and ensuring public safety during winter storms.
Juwainat emphasized that stormwater management remains a top priority for the municipality. Crews are actively working to resolve field issues to make the city "safer and better prepared for winter." The mayor highlighted the importance of these efforts in protecting the community and enhancing infrastructure resilience.
