Mafraq Governor Reviews Municipal Services and UNESCO Site in Umm al-Jimal

Mafraq: Mafraq Governor Firas Abu Qaoud conducted an inspection tour on Monday to review local municipal services in Umm al-Jimal and progress on a new school project in the Al-Kom al-Ahmar area. During the visit, the head of the municipal committee, Mohammed Abu Ulaim, briefed the governor on key developmental and service projects designed to improve public services for residents.

According to Jordan News Agency, Abu Qaoud visited the visitor center at the Umm al-Jimal archaeological site, which is inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list. He toured the landmark ruins and was briefed on ongoing preservation and development efforts, emphasizing the critical importance of protecting the cultural heritage site.

The governor also inspected the designated land plot for a planned school in Al-Kom al-Ahmar. The municipality donated the land for the project as part of its initiative to support the local educational sector and provide suitable learning facilities for area students to foster community development.
