Mayor and Turkish Business Council Explore Investment Opportunities in Amman

Amman: Mayor of Greater Amman, Yousef Shawarbeh, recently engaged in discussions with a delegation from the Jordanian-Turkish Business Council to explore avenues for enhancing cooperation and mechanisms for joint development projects. These projects aim to serve the capital and enhance its appeal to investors.

According to Jordan News Agency, the Turkish delegation's visit was part of a series of meetings organized by the Jordanian Businessmen Association in collaboration with the Foreign Economic Relations Board of Trkiye (DEIK).

During the meeting held at Al Hussein Cultural Center, Shawarbeh emphasized the strong historical ties between Jordan and Trkiye across various sectors. He mentioned the establishment of the "Amman Vision" group, consisting of three companies-Amman Vision for Transport, Amman Vision for Investment and Development, and Amman Vision for Waste Treatment and Recycling-serving as the Municipality's investment and development arm.

Shawarbeh highlighted that the Municipality's projects align with the Economic Modernization Vision, which contributes to investment growth. He pointed out the incentives offered to investors and the ongoing cooperation with Trkiye in public transport development, especially in bus procurement and operation.

Turkish Ambassador to Amman Yakup Cayamazo?lu extended his congratulations on the occasion of Jordan's 79th Independence Day. He commended the strength of Jordanian-Turkish ties and the Municipality's role in fostering an attractive investment climate, particularly in public transport and waste recycling.

Levent Birant, Chairman of the Council, noted that the Council was established in 2019 in Amman, a capital recognized for its security and stability, providing a safe environment for investments in vital sectors such as transportation and telecommunications.

Director General of the Jordanian Businessmen Association, Tariq Hijazi, emphasized the appeal of Jordan's investment environment and expressed interest in expanding investment opportunities, particularly in real estate development.
