Amman: Minister of Government Communications Mohammad Momani emphasized the critical need for media in the Arab region to highlight success stories and the Arab contribution to human heritage during the closing ceremony of the 2025 Journalism for Dialogue Fellowship Programme. He pointed out that the "Journalism for Dialogue" project serves as a model for investing in awareness and building bridges of understanding among peoples. The ceremony was organized by the King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Centre for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue (KAICIID) and the Al-Hayat Centre (Rased).
According to Jordan News Agency, Momani underscored the importance of dialogue, particularly in media-related fields, as essential for promoting understanding and fostering peace. He expressed pride in seeing a new generation of Arab journalists committed to dialogue as a path toward progress and peace, equipped with knowledge and confidence in their heritage and future.
Amer Bani Amer, Director General of the Al-Hayat Centre "Rased," highlighted the decade-long partnership with KAICIID. He described the collaboration as a distinguished model of joint work aimed at spreading a culture of dialogue and understanding, and building bridges of communication among peoples. Bani Amer noted that Jordan has long prioritized dialogue as a national ethos, rooted in respect for diversity and pluralism, and the values of moderation, openness, and coexistence.
Bani Amer further stated that KAICIID and Rased's programmes are designed to empower media professionals to become advocates for peace and voices of reason and wisdom. He stressed that "dialogue is not an intellectual luxury but a national necessity and a tool for building more cohesive and just societies."
Wassim Haddad, Director of the Arab Region Programme at KAICIID, remarked on the project's balance between freedom of expression and the responsibilities accompanying the written word. He emphasized that the media is not just a transmitter of events but a shaper of awareness, trust, and coexistence, making it a strategic partner in all KAICIID programmes in the Arab region and beyond.
The ceremony concluded with Momani presenting certificates to the graduates. The event drew a large audience, including members of parliament and the Senate, representatives of local and Arab media outlets, and experts and activists in media, dialogue, and social cohesion.
