Amman: Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Sami Smeirat met with representatives of the European Union (EU) and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) to review the progress of the "Entrepreneurship for Sustainable Economic Development and Employment in Jordan (E4DE) project. According to Jordan News Agency, the E4DE project is funded by the EU and the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, and it is implemented by GIZ in collaboration with the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship. The project aims to enhance the entrepreneurship landscape in Jordan, with the EU joining as a new partner to discuss future cooperation plans. This collaboration focuses on strengthening the national entrepreneurship policy to foster sustainable economic growth. Minister Smeirat highlighted the project's significance as a part of the government's dedication to nurturing an entrepreneurial ecosystem that fosters innovation, supports startups, and aids small businesses, ul timately contributing to economic development and job creation. He emphasized that this collaboration aligns with Jordan's vision for economic modernization, aiming to position entrepreneurship as a crucial driver of inclusive economic transformation, boosting competitiveness, and attracting investment. Thibaut Moyer, Deputy Head of Cooperation at the EU Delegation in Jordan, expressed the EU's pride in funding the project, underscoring its commitment to supporting entrepreneurship and private sector growth in Jordan. Kordula Mehlhart, Head of Development Cooperation at the German Embassy in Jordan, remarked on the importance of promoting entrepreneurship to drive innovation by uniting public and private stakeholders at the national level and connecting entrepreneurship support organizations and startups in various regions. She stated that this collaboration would contribute to sustainable economic growth and job creation in Jordan.
