Amman: The Ministry of Water and Irrigation, in collaboration with the Water Authority of Jordan (WAJ) and other relevant authorities, has successfully uncovered significant water violations in Al Muwaqqar district and the Karak governorate. These violations involved illegal water pipelines siphoning off resources to fill tankers and supply agricultural ponds and sheep farms.
According to Jordan News Agency, the ministry's recent campaign revealed several illegal activities involving water pipelines with diameters of 300 and 400 mm that were used to fill tankers in the Al Muwaqqar region, located south of Amman. In Karak, authorities discovered five violations where illegal fixtures were used to fill large ponds, each with a capacity of 500 cubic meters, as well as a sheep farm. All violations were dismantled, and reports were filed to address these breaches of the law.
The Ministry of Water and Irrigation expressed its dedication to upholding the rights of citizens by protecting water resources in accordance with legal standards. The ministry also acknowledged the crucial support received from the Ministry of Interior, the Public Security Directorate, and the Judicial Council during the operation. The ministry praised the cooperation of citizens in reporting these violations, which is vital in preserving Jordan's precious water resources.
