Amman: The Ministry of Social Development issued its report for last month designed to monitor its key services during the target period. Last December, 2,823 households received emergency financial aid, highlighting the ministry's efforts to support those in need during challenging times.
According to Jordan News Agency, the ministry reported receiving 8,907 transactions aimed at preparing social studies for granting health insurance to impoverished households. There were also 179 requests to exempt individuals from treatment expenses, 55 requests to settle heirs' rights, and 1,679 requests to exempt from work permit fees. These figures underscore the ministry's commitment to addressing various social needs.
The ministry's statement also revealed that 38 children were placed in shelter homes, while 32 were discharged, and another 32 were handed over to alternative families. This demonstrates the ministry's ongoing efforts to provide care and support for vulnerable children.
The report highlighted that a total of 6,109 registered and existing associations are active under the effective Associations Law, with 86 requests submitted to amend the associations' bylaws. In addition, 5 new associations were registered, 40 were dissolved, and 9 were warned to rectify their status, reflecting the dynamic nature of social organizations in the region.
Regarding the operations of the National Aid Fund (NAF), the report stated that 2,823 families benefited from regular and immediate emergency financial aid programs, while 967 households received monthly financial assistance. The report also noted that 122 families benefited from the physical rehabilitation aid program, and 30 others from the training program. The response rate to calls received by the Fund stood at 89%, indicating efficient communication and assistance processes.
The report further indicated that the Anti-Vagrancy Directorate conducted 400 campaigns, resulting in the arrest of 765 beggars nationwide, emphasizing the ministry's efforts to address issues of vagrancy and provide necessary interventions.
