Amman: Minister of Government Communication Mohammad Momani, on Sunday, emphasized that Arab media is dedicated to gaining international backing for Palestine. In a meeting with Arab guests at the Jordan Arab Media Festival, Momani advocated for highlighting Israel's actions during its conflict in the Gaza Strip and its activities in the occupied West Bank. According to Jordan News Agency, Momani underscored the Arab media's "vital" role in bringing attention to Israel's violations, focusing on its consistent attempts to undermine the Palestinian people's "inalienable" rights, which are considered breaches of both international law and humanitarian law. During the meeting at the Ministry's offices, he reaffirmed that the Palestinian cause remains Jordan's "central" issue, emphasizing Jordan's pride in leading efforts advocating for Palestinian self-determination and the establishment of an independent state based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital. Momani stated, "We are defending this just cause as part of Jordan's national, historical, humanitarian, and religious duty, as well as to protect the Kingdom's interests by advocating for an independent Palestinian state with full sovereignty under international resolutions." He also highlighted Jordan's steadfast position in calling for an end to the Israeli war on Gaza and ensuring the continued and adequate delivery of humanitarian aid to the region. He called for prioritizing the Palestinian cause in Arab discussions on digital platforms to secure more international support. Amjad Qadi, Chairperson of the Higher Committee of the Jordan Arab Media Festival, mentioned that the current festival edition is titled "Supporting Palestine," focusing on the plight of the Palestinian people amid ongoing Israeli actions in Gaza and the occupied West Bank. Ahmed Assaf, General Supervisor of the Palestinian Official Media, commended Jordan's initiatives to halt the conflict in Gaza, provide humanitarian assistance, and defend the Islamic and Christian holy sites in occupied East Jerusalem.
