Moroccan Delegation Explores Jordan’s Water Sector Innovations

Amman: A delegation from Morocco visited the Ministry of Water and Irrigation on Monday to learn about Jordan's water sector experience and the challenges it faces as part of a joint programme to exchange expertise.

According to Jordan News Agency, Saddam Khleifat, Director of the National Water Carrier Unit, explained that the visit aimed to enhance technical cooperation and familiarise the delegation with Jordan's leading projects in the water sector, particularly seawater desalination through the National Water Carrier Project. This project is considered a cornerstone of national water security.

Khleifat stated that the Ministry is committed to advancing the project, providing the delegation with a comprehensive briefing on desalination efforts and the progress being made toward its completion. He emphasized that the water sector continues to implement the national economic reform programme, which serves as a key pillar for ensuring the sustainability of water projects and improving services in line with the Economic Modernisation Vision and the Water Sector Strategic Plan 2023-2040.
