MoU Signed to Bolster Palestinian Agricultural Sector

Amman: Head of Agricultural Engineers Association (AEA), Ali Abu Nuqta, and Director General of the Jordanian-Palestinian Company for Marketing Agricultural Products (JPACO), Dr. Ibrahim Sharif, have formalized a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to advance cooperation and coordination, aiming to pave new avenues for work in agricultural and professional domains.

According to Jordan News Agency, an AEA statement released on Saturday highlighted Abu Nuqta's remarks that the agreement is a step towards supporting the resilience of the Palestinian people and enhancing the capabilities of the agricultural sector and engineers in Palestine. He emphasized the importance of leveraging the association's expertise and technical skills to aid efforts in sector development and capacity enhancement.

Sharif acknowledged the association's contribution to the sector and agricultural engineers, underscoring the significance of mutual partnership and coordination in cultivating capabilities and competencies. He noted the value of exchanging expertise and fostering cooperation opportunities in agricultural and marketing areas.

The memo outlines several cooperation axes, primarily focusing on sector operation development, skill enhancement for agricultural engineers, training, and capacity building. It also includes provisions for exchanging expertise, information, and technical support. Additionally, both parties will work on supporting agricultural marketing, value chains, and exports, while collaborating on various agricultural initiatives, projects, events, and activities.
