MP: Saudi Arabia arrested 21 Iraqi pilgrims under unjustified pretexts

Member of Parliament Habib al-Halawi revealed today, Saturday, that Saudi Arabia has arrested 21 Iraqi pilgrims, calling on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to intervene to put an end to these arrests. Al-Halawi said in a post on the (X) platform, "We call on the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs to intervene urgently and immediately to stop the repeated arrests carried out by the Saudi authorities against Iraqi pilgrims and Umrah performers, which are carried out under unjustified and unprecedented pretexts, which were recently represented in the arrest of 21 Iraqi citizens." He added that "these unjustified arrests constitute a violation of the rights of Iraqi citizens, and thus we call on the ministry to assume its full responsibilities in protecting Iraqi citizens abroad, and ensuring that such incidents are not repeated."
