MPs and Chinese Ambassador Discuss Expanding Transport Cooperation

Amman: The Parliamentary Public Services and Transportation Committee met with Chinese Ambassador to Jordan Guo Wei to discuss expanding cooperation in transportation, public services, infrastructure, investment, and parliamentary relations.

According to Jordan News Agency, Committee Chair Ayman Badadwa emphasized that Amman-Beijing ties continue to deepen, improving the strategic partnership across political, economic, investment, technological, and cultural fields. Badadwa highlighted the committee's recent participation in the Qingdao Multinationals Summit in China, which opened direct communication channels with major corporations and paved the way for potential strategic transportation and logistics partnerships.

Committee members pointed out that Jordan offers an attractive investment environment, citing its strategic location, political stability, and network of free trade agreements. They called for increased cooperation with China in railways, ports, maritime services, and infrastructure projects.

Guo Wei, the Chinese Ambassador, reiterated China's commitment to strengthening its partnership with Jordan, describing the Kingdom as a stable and reliable regional partner. He noted that Jordan's shift toward a knowledge-based economy under its Economic Modernization Vision (EMV) creates new opportunities for cooperation in transportation, infrastructure, technology, digital economy, energy, and investment.
