The Lower House on Monday completed electing its permanent office members in the presence of Lower House Speaker Abdul Karim Doghmi and the Cabinet.

The office consists of the speaker and his two deputies, and two assistants.

The Lower House decided to task the permanent office with naming the members of a committee to write a response for His Majesty King Abdullah’s Speech from the Throne, to be approved by the House and presented to His Majesty within 14 days.

MP Haitham Ziyadin was elected as the second deputy speaker of the Lower House with 66 votes, defeating MP Nassar Heesah, who received the backing of 57 MPs.

MP Ghazi Beddawi, and MP Rashed Shouwha were elected as assistants with 47 and 44 votes respectively.
