Amman: The Ministry of Water and Irrigation / Jordan Valley Authority has announced that the Mujib Dam is on the verge of reaching its full storage capacity of 25 million cubic meters, with expectations of overflowing into Wadi Mujib within the coming hours due to ongoing rainfall in several parts of the Kingdom, especially in the southern regions.
According to Jordan News Agency, the Ministry emphasized that the recent downpours have significantly contributed to replenishing the country's water reserves. Notable increases have been observed at the Karak Valley Dam in Karak and the Shidham Dam in Tafila, aiding in the overall water storage capabilities of the nation.
The Ministry has issued a public advisory urging citizens to exercise caution by steering clear of floodplains and valleys. It also advised maintaining a safe distance from dams and earthworks and strictly following instructions from relevant authorities to ensure public safety.
