Muslim World League Criticizes Israel’s Rejection of Gaza Roadmap

Riyadh: The Muslim World League has issued a strong condemnation of Israel's declared rejection of the roadmap intended to end the conflict in Gaza and establish a Palestinian state. The organization expressed its concerns over Israel's refusal to implement the comprehensive plan proposed by US President Donald Trump, which is supported by Security Council Resolution 2803. According to Union of OIC News Agencies, the General Secretariat of the League released a statement in which His Excellency the Secretary-General, Chairman of the Council of Muslim Scholars, Sheikh Dr. Muhammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, decried Israel's decision. He emphasized that this rejection continues the pattern of Israeli policies that violate international laws and resolutions, undermining efforts to achieve peace. Sheikh Dr. Al-Issa underscored the necessity for Israel to comply fully with the obligations outlined in President Trump's plan and its roadmap, advocating for the swift implementation of its second phase. He also called for measures to ensure no party obstructs its progress. His statement was aligned with those of foreign ministers from several countries, including Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, Pakistan, Indonesia, Turkey, Qatar, and the UAE. These nations have expressed solidarity with the Palestinian people, supporting their legitimate rights to establish an independent and sovereign state according to the two-state solution and international resolutions, which is seen as the only viable path to achieving lasting peace in the region.
