Amman: Director General of National Aid Fund (NAF), Khitam Shenikat, on Tuesday received a Syrian delegation, led by Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Hind Qabwat, at its headquarters. The meeting aimed to strengthen joint cooperation and exchange expertise in social protection while emphasizing the frameworks of bilateral cooperation.
According to Jordan News Agency, Shenikat highlighted the importance of sharing regional expertise in the area of social protection and utilizing the fund's experience in cash transfers to target groups. The Syrian delegation was informed about the NAF's programs and mechanisms for aid disbursement to the Kingdom's poorest families, including the digital transformation in the fund's service and payment systems.
During the discussions, the delegation also explored the NAF's economic and social empowerment program, which aims to enable beneficiary households to work and become productive. Furthermore, the visit included an overview of the operational system of the NAF's Geographic Mapping Center and the Support and Assistance Center.
Minister Qabwat expressed appreciation for the NAF's service delivery level and conveyed Syria's interest in leveraging this experience to enhance its own support and protection systems.
