Muwaqqar: The National Aid Fund (NAF) has initiated a new industrial garment design and sewing program in the Muwaqqar district, with the aim of bolstering the economic empowerment of beneficiary families and easing their entry into the labor market.
According to Jordan News Agency, the program is named "Pattern Techniques and Industrial Sewing" and is conducted in collaboration with the Garment Design and Training Services Center at the Queen Rania Al Abdullah Center for Information Technology and Community Service. It is specifically targeted at 40 women from families currently benefiting from NAF assistance.
NAF Director General Khitam Shneikat highlighted that this initiative is in line with the fund's strategy to economically empower beneficiary households and promote self-reliance through specialized training programs designed for productive economic sectors. Shneikat pointed out that economic empowerment programs are a key component of sustainable social protection for the NAF.
Hassan Al-Nsour, CEO of the Garment Design and Training Services Center, remarked on the significance of strategic partnerships between specialized training facilities and national entities committed to economic development. He noted the program as a testament to such collaborations.
Ehab Al-Qaderi, representing the leather and garments sector at the Jordan Chamber of Industry, commended the training initiatives that directly cater to the technical needs of the industrial workforce.
The program's launch is part of a larger series of initiatives by the NAF aimed at enhancing the skills and employability of its beneficiaries, which in turn is expected to increase household productivity and support sustainable development objectives across the kingdom's regions.
