Amman: Director of the National Center for Epidemics and Disease Control Adel Balbeisi and the World Health Organisation (WHO) representative in Jordan, Iman Shanqeeti, discussed on Monday cooperation in public health. In a meeting in Amman, Balbeisi and Shanqeeti explored ways to support national efforts to prevent infectious diseases and enhance Jordan's preparedness for future health challenges.
According to Jordan News Agency, Balbeisi emphasized the role of the WHO in supporting Jordan's health system and advocated for continued collaboration to improve the country's readiness to respond to epidemics and health emergencies. Shanqeeti expressed the WHO's commitment to deepening its partnership with the center, particularly in light of changing global health dynamics.
Shanqeeti highlighted the importance of strengthening disease surveillance and response systems, expanding preventive health services, and promoting community awareness and education. She also called for robust cooperation mechanisms to combat communicable diseases and ensure rapid, coordinated responses to emerging health threats.
