Amman: The National Center for Agricultural Research (NCAR) has entered into four cooperation agreements with private sector organizations to collaboratively address pressing agricultural challenges. These agreements, signed on Monday, involve partnerships with the Hussein Fund for Excellence, the Jordan Dates Association, the Jordan Exporters and Producers Association for Fruit and Vegetables (JEPA), and the Agricultural Union Company.

According to Jordan News Agency, the primary objective of these agreements is to enhance collaboration between the public and private sectors by investing in scientific research and innovation. This initiative is designed to create practical solutions for ongoing agricultural problems. Ibrahim Rawashdeh, Director of NCAR, stated that the center's various stations situated throughout Jordan will be accessible for applied research, which will be driven by the center's own experts and researchers.

The agreements are expected to provide support for entrepreneurial initiatives, facilitating their transformation into applied projects and startups. Additionally, they aim to bolster scientific research specifically in the fields of palm and date cultivation. The partnerships are also set to focus on improving the quality and competitiveness of agricultural products, ensuring they meet international standards. Furthermore, the agreements will enable the conduct of field studies to evaluate the efficacy and safety periods of pesticides.
