NEPCO’s Electricity Sales Increase by 2.5% in First Five Months of 2026

Amman: National Electric Power Company (NEPCO)'s total electricity sales rose by 2.5% during the January to May period of 2026, compared to the same timeframe in 2025.

According to Jordan News Agency, company data revealed that total sales reached 9,401.5 gigawatt-hours (GWh), up from 9,174 GWh during the same period last year.

Overall sales for the Kingdom's three distribution companies increased to 9,044 GWh from 8,838 GWh, marking a 2.3% rise. On the sales distribution front, Jordan Electric Power Company (JEPCO) reported sales of 5,718.2 GWh, an increase from 5,549.2 GWh, marking a 3.0% growth. Irbid Electric Power Company (IEPCO) recorded sales of 1,763.4 GWh, up from 1,717.5 GWh, reflecting a 2.7% increase. Meanwhile, the Electricity Distribution Company (EDCO) saw a sales figure of 1,562.4 GWh, slightly lower than the previous year's 1,571.3 GWh, with a 0.6% decline.

The data indicated that sales to major subscribers rose from 206.3 GWh to 208 GWh, showing an increase of 0.8%. Moreover, exported electricity witnessed a significant surge from 129.7 GWh to 149.5 GWh, recording a 15.3% rise. The General Company for Electricity Transmission in Central Region exported 62 GWh, up from 54.7 GWh, marking a 13.3% increase. Additionally, the Jerusalem District Electricity Company exported 84.3 GWh, an increase from 72.1 GWh, representing a 16.9% rise. The Trebil border crossing facility with Iraq exported 3.2 GWh, compared to 2.9 GWh, signifying a 10.3% increase.
