New measures to support Egypt’s industry, exports

Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport, Kamel El-Wazir, announced on Monday 30/9/2024 that centralised distribution of mazut to building materials factories shall start on October 1st. The Ministerial Group for Industrial Development will form a technical committee comprising experts from the Ministries of Industry and Military Production to explore the potential of producing, localising, and maintaining diverse solar energy equipment in Egypt. The group also recommended forming a committee to review the export support programme and establish new eligibility criteria, including the percentage of local components in exported goods.
