New Movie to Depict Tragic Death of Young Palestinian Girl Hind in Gaza

Gaza: A new movie is set to depict the tragic death of five-year-old Palestinian girl Hind Rajab, who was killed after being stranded in a vehicle struck by Israeli forces in Gaza. Acclaimed Tunisian filmmaker Kaouther Ben Hania is directing the currently untitled project, which has garnered support from several prominent industry figures and Film4.

According to Anadolu Agency, the production team includes Nadim Cheikhrouha, recognized for his work on Four Daughters, alongside Oscar-winning producers Odessa Rae and James Wilson. The film will dramatize the events of January 29, 2024, when Hind and her family attempted to flee Gaza City in their vehicle, which came under attack. While several family members died instantly, Hind remained trapped in the car for hours, maintaining contact with the Palestinian Red Cross Society as rescuers endeavored to reach her.

After Israeli forces withdrew from the area, rescue teams discovered on February 10 that both Hind and the paramedics sent to save her had died. The movie seeks to shed light on the human cost of Israel's attacks on Gaza, which have resulted in the deaths of more than 53,000 people.
