Manama, The National Institute for Human Rights (NIHR) launched the Youth Ambassadors Initiative (YAI), coinciding with the International Youth Day. The initiative runs in parallel with the participation of the NIHR in the national campaign to protect children in cyberspace, and in programmes and events organised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs as part of Youth City 2030. Ali Ahmed Al Derazi, President of the National Institution for Human Rights, said the initiative aims to strengthen the role of Bahraini youth in raising awareness on human rights principles. It also focuses on the use of modern technology and honing their competitive skills. The NIHR president explained that the programme aims to empower youth through training and workshops related to the application of human rights principles in the digital age. He emphasised the vital role of youth as future leaders and agents of change in society and of the great importance of integrating them effectively in efforts to promote and uphold human rights . The YAI seeks to empower youth to adopt issues and topics that contribute to motivating young people to study international and local legislation to develop proposals and solutions for topics of interest.
