Official Holidays Announced for Christmas, New Year

Amman: Prime Minister Jafar Hassan issued a circular announcing official holidays on the occasions of Christmas and New Year. According to the circular, all ministries, government departments, public institutions and bodies, official universities, municipalities, joint services councils, the Greater Amman Municipality, and wholly government-owned companies will suspend work on Thursday, December 25, 2025, and Thursday, January 1, 2026.

According to Jordan News Agency, the circular designates December 26, 2025, as an official holiday for Jordanian Christians. Services whose nature of work requires otherwise are excluded from the holiday announcement.
