Amman, Oil prices fell on Friday but are on track to gain more than 6 per cent this week against the backdrop of “strong” indications of demand growth in China, the largest importer of crude oil.

Brent crude futures fell 17 cents, 0.2 per cent, to $83.86 a barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate crude futures fell 12 cents, 0.2 per cent, to $78.27, according to CNBC.

Brent jumped 6.7% this week, and WTI rose 6.2%, recouping most of the previous week’s losses.
