GAZA CITY: Al-Awda Hospital in the northern Gaza Strip has announced the death of Saeed Joda, the sole orthopedic doctor serving the northern region of Gaza. Joda was reportedly shot in the head by an Israeli soldier while at the hospital, which has been under siege for over two months. According to Jordan News Agency, Joda's death marks a significant loss for the medical community and residents in northern Gaza, who relied on his expertise for orthopedic care. Al-Awda Hospital, where Joda was employed, has been enduring a siege for 70 days, exacerbating the challenges faced by medical personnel and patients in the area. The hospital issued a statement on Thursday, detailing the circumstances of Joda's death and highlighting the increasing difficulties in providing medical services amidst ongoing conflict. The statement emphasized the critical shortage of medical professionals in the region, further intensified by the loss of Dr. Joda.
