Palestinian Church Affairs Committee Condemns Israeli Aggression Amid Eid Festivities

Ramallah: The Higher Presidential Committee for Church Affairs in Palestine stated that Palestinians in Gaza are welcoming Eid al-Fitr for the second consecutive year under immense suffering due to ongoing Israeli aggression, enabled by international complicity.

According to Jordan News Agency, in a statement issued Saturday, committee head Ramzi Khoury denounced Israeli brutality, saying it undermines humanitarian values and international principles. He criticized certain nations for accepting the blockade on Palestinians, allowing Israel to persist in its bombardment, starvation tactics, and forced displacement.

The committee highlighted continued military operations in the West Bank, particularly in refugee camps in Tulkarm and Jenin, where thousands have been displaced. It also warned of Israel's accelerated settlement expansion and Judaization efforts targeting Jerusalem and its Islamic and Christian holy sites.

Khoury called for a serious response from Arab and Islamic nations to counter Israeli right-wing policies, warning that such actions threaten Palestinian aspirations for independence.

The committee urged the international community to uphold its legal and moral obligations in protecting the Palestinian people and to end its support for Israel's occupation and crimes.

It also praised Palestinian resilience and commitment to their land and sacred sites.
