Cairo: Lower House Speaker Ahmad Safadi said Tuesday that all Jordanians are united behind His Majesty King Abdullah II, who did not compromise on the national interest and resolutely said "no" to resettlement displacement or alternative homeland of the Palestinians.

According to Jordan News Agency, Safadi addressed a conference of the Arab Parliament in Cairo, titled "The Arab Document to Support the Steadfastness of the Palestinian People on its Land." He pledged that Jordan will remain true to its Arab nation and stand by Palestine "in all circumstances."

He referred to Egypt's support of Jordan's position after His Majesty's meeting with US President Donald Trump, which demonstrated Arab accord. He also cited a coordination meeting by Arab leaders in Saudi Arabia to unite Arab ranks and efforts.

The King's speech delivered a clear message that Jordan opposes the displacement of Palestinians, backed by popular support and Arab leaders. Safadi noted that the representatives of the people will support the leaders at their upcoming summit in Cairo, collectively asserting: "Gaza is for its people and there will be no displacement of its population."

Safadi emphasized the critical juncture faced in the history of the Palestinian issue, with its impacts resonating throughout the region. He asserted that security and stability are unattainable without a just and comprehensive solution ensuring the establishment of an independent and fully sovereign Palestinian state.

The Jordanian delegation participated in a preparatory meeting of the Arab Parliament to draft a 17-article charter rejecting the displacement of Palestinians. The charter underscores the Palestinians' right to establish an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital and includes initiatives to engage international parliaments in support of the Palestinian cause.
