Parliamentary Energy Committee Endorses Copper Mining Deal in Southern Jordan

Amman: The Parliamentary Energy and Mineral Resources Committee has approved a significant deal for copper mining in the Abu Khsheiba area of Wadi Aaraba, situated in southern Jordan. This decision was announced during a committee meeting held on Monday, which underscored the agreement's potential impact on the national economy.

According to Jordan News Agency, the committee, led by MP Ayman Abu Haniyeh, evaluated the agreement's economic feasibility, guarantees, and implementation mechanisms. The committee aimed to strike a balance between fostering investment and protecting national interests while responsibly utilizing natural resources. Abu Haniyeh emphasized the importance of ensuring sustainability, clarity in obligations, and agreement flexibility.
