Amman: A comprehensive journalism training course opened on Sunday at the Petra Training Center of the Jordan News Agency (Petra), with the participation of 28 media and public relations professionals representing government ministries, departments, and public institutions.
According to Jordan News Agency, the five-day course aims to equip participants with skills in news writing and best professional practices for preparing press releases, interviews, press conferences, news editing, reports, and investigative features, alongside media applications for social platforms.
The program covers core techniques in news drafting, interviewing, and editing, as well as strategies for utilizing social media and digital platforms effectively within media operations.
Inaugurating the course, Petra Director General Fairouz Mubaideen said the participation of media professionals across various institutions creates a valuable opportunity to exchange expertise and gain hands-on training in journalists' crafts in line with professional standards.
Mubaideen emphasized that the Jordan News Agency has earned public trust through its commitment to accuracy and objectivity, noting that credibility remains essential across all facets of news operations. She added that Petra continues to keep pace with rapid technological advancements by integrating digital transformation tools to produce more modern and interactive content for audiences.
