Amman: Prime Minister underscored the importance of holding cabinet sessions in various governorates to ensure a unified approach to development planning. In a recent session, it was revealed that tenders will soon be issued for expanding the Jerash Government Hospital and constructing a new comprehensive health center in the governorate.

According to Jordan News Agency, several ministers outlined current and future projects across sectors such as water, education, infrastructure, health, tourism, agriculture, and social development in Jerash Governorate. These initiatives highlight the government's commitment to addressing local needs and fostering growth.

Minister of Water and Irrigation Raed Abu Soud detailed several water-related projects, including the rehabilitation of water networks in the Al-Mastaba district at JD7 million, expected by 2027. Future plans involve 11 new projects, including the West Jerash wastewater treatment plant and biogas-powered electricity systems, slated for completion by 2028 at JD32 million.

Other water initiatives involve constructing a sanitation network in northern Jerash (JD16 million) and rehabilitating networks in Al-Naseem (JD7.5 million), both due by 2027. Additional efforts include restructuring water networks and household connections in various villages, with completion expected next year.

Abu Soud also announced upgrades for the Qairawan pumping station and Jerash reservoir, a new 5,000-cubic-meter water tank in Sakib, new pipelines, and a rehabilitation project for the Ain Al-Deek pumping station, set to begin next year and finish by 2027.

Minister of Local Administration Walid Masri emphasized municipal and urban development projects, focusing on connecting the modern city to the archaeological city. A comprehensive master plan for Jerash is in progress alongside digitization efforts for 50 municipal services.
