PM asserts Egypt’s keenness on security, stability of Lebanon

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli reiterated Egypt's rejection of any attempts to escalate the conflict regionally. The premier's statements came following a series of explosions from wireless communication devices in Lebanon. All parties should shoulder responsibility, he said, stressing Egypt's utmost keenness on security, stability and sovereignty of Lebanon. That was confirmed by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi during a meeting with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who has recently visited Egypt. The premier's remarks came during the weekly government meeting that tackled a number of issues and files in the premises of the cabinet in the New Administrative Capital (NAC). Madbouli pointed out to president Sisi's remarks while discussing the crisis in the Gaza Strip with Blinken on emphasizing greater interest in removing all obstacles to the delivery of giant quantities of assistance into Gaza and the necessity of stopping Israeli violations in the West Bank. Madbouli also referred to the president 's phone call with King Abdullah II of Jordan in which he reiterated rejection to liquidate the Palestinian cause. Shifting to the local affair, the prime minister said the government is very interested in implementing the State Ownership Policy Document, which is aiming to promote the role of the private sector in investment and ensure the optimum management of the state's assets. He talked about his recent visit to Saudi Arabia and several meetings he held with many ministers. Talking about his visit to the kingdom, Madbouli underscored the importance of reaching a final agreement on protecting and encouraging Egyptian-Saudi investments. He also tackled the celebration that was held to launch the presidential initiative for human development, themed 'A New Beginning for Human Building.' Source: State Information Service Egypt
