The Prime Minister, Muhammad Al-Sudani, stressed the importance of the capital, Baghdad, having priority in implementing the slogan of the year of services and projects launched by the government.
A statement by his media office stated that the Prime Minister, Muhammad al-Sudani, visited the Baghdad Municipality building, on Wednesday evening, and was received by the Mayor of Baghdad and the advanced staff in the Municipality.
According to the statement, Al-Sudani held a meeting with the directors of municipalities in the capital, Baghdad, and was briefed on the progress of the implementation of projects related to drinking water, sanitation and infrastructure projects, and level of implementing and overcoming obstacles facing the implementation of projects, and conducting field visits to work sites.
The meeting witnessed Al-Sudani's review of a report that includes citizens' opinions and their evaluation of the level of municipal services provided in different areas of the capital, and in multiple municipal departments, stressing that citizens' satisfaction is the criterion for the quality and purpose of services.
The Prime Minister followed the work of the Baghdad Municipality and its executive programs, which stem from the priorities of the government program in the service axis, and he made observations regarding its workflow, stressing the need for the capital, Baghdad, to double service work in its residential areas and neighborhoods, and to be at an exceptional level in terms of implementation and timing, and stressed the need to exert maximum efforts to serve the people of the capital and to provide municipal services, in order for Baghdad to appear in the best way, and to reflect its bright history and heritage.
Al-Sudani also stressed, according to the statement, the importance of the capital, Baghdad, having priority in implementing the slogan of the Year of Services and Projects launched by the government, which was in line with its vision towards providing services in all parts of Iraq, pointing to the need to pay attention to the urban and cultural aspect because of its capabilities in this aspect. In addition to developing the entrances to the capital and caring for green spaces, in a way that adds aesthetic and environmental elements to its areas and streets.
He pointed to the government's efforts to combat corruption, and the extreme importance of this goal, given its direct impact on the level and quality of performance.
The Prime Minister directed that all observations on the work of the municipality that were raised during the meeting be dealt with, indicating that: "The steps of the treatments will be followed up in subsequent visits to him."
