Amman, Prime Minister, Dr. Bisher Khasawneh, on Wednesday decided to extend implementation of Defense Order No. (28) of 2021, issued pursuant to Defense Law No. (13) of 1992, pertaining to imprisonment of debtors for a month period, effective to January 31, 2023.

The Prime Minister also directed to coordinate with Jordan Judicial Council (JJC) on debt cases and provide scientific statistics on the number of cases so far adjudged by courts, in preparation for revoking Defense Order No. (28), in a way that preserves rights of all parties.

In addition, the PM issued Communiqué No. (62) for 2022 for the purposes of implementing the above decision, which will be published in the Official Gazette today.
