Jerash: Prime Minister Jafar Hassan on Sunday embarked on a series of inspections covering cultural, educational, production, and tourism projects across the governorates of Jerash and Irbid, aiming to bolster infrastructure and opportunities in these regions.
According to Jordan News Agency, the Prime Minister's tour commenced with the inauguration of the Jerash Cultural Center. This facility is poised to become a hub for residents and intellectuals, featuring theaters, a library, and multipurpose halls for various artistic disciplines such as music, visual arts, and Arabic calligraphy. During his visit, the Prime Minister emphasized the need for skilled instructors, up-to-date library resources, and modern computing facilities to enhance the center's offerings.
The Jerash Cultural Center is strategically placed on an eight-dunam plot, encompassing a three-floor structure on approximately 3,500 square meters, ensuring accessibility for its users.
In the Irbid Governorate, accompanied by former Prime Minister Abdul Raouf Rawabdeh, the Prime Minister visited a soon-to-be-opened permanent exhibition of agricultural and rural products. This exhibition, located near King Abdullah II Gardens, is designed to support local farmers and entrepreneurs by providing a marketing platform. The 4,500-square-meter facility includes product display halls, a production kitchen, an outdoor theater, and more, with the goal of stimulating economic activity and job creation.
Prime Minister Hassan also reviewed the state of the historic Irbid Comprehensive Secondary School for Boys, proposing a comprehensive expansion plan to modernize its facilities while preserving its heritage value. Additionally, he ordered the transformation of Irbid Hill into a public park, ensuring collaboration between ministries and local institutions to preserve key heritage sites.
At the archaeological site of Umm Qais, the Prime Minister assessed ongoing restoration efforts aimed at enhancing tourism. He instructed the acceleration of restoration plans for the heritage village and the Umm Qais Museum, reinforcing the site's inclusion in the national tourism map.
Further directives included road paving in al-Mukhaiba al-Fouqa and al-Mukhaiba al-Tahta, underscoring the Prime Minister's commitment to infrastructure development across the region.
