PM: Jordan’s Interests Supreme, No Foreign Influence Tolerated

Amman: Prime Minister Jafar Hassan has affirmed that Jordan stands closer to the Palestinian people than any other nation, and that "our Hashemite leadership has historically made unparalleled sacrifices for the Palestinian cause, with blood, martyrs, and unyielding resolve". "Our positions are immutable, our policies transparent and well-documented," the Prime Minister said during a Lower House of Parliament session Wednesday.

According to Jordan News Agency, the Prime Minister emphasized that it is Jordan's solemn duty to uphold its commitments under the steadfast leadership of His Majesty the King, both regionally and internationally. He made it clear that Jordan's interests are supreme, and no external force will dictate the country's course. He further asserted that any interference in Jordan's internal affairs or threats to its security will be met with decisive action.

The Prime Minister also addressed concerns around externally driven agendas or decisions, stating that any deviation from Jordan's national policies and objectives or compromise of its sovereign interests will not be tolerated. He warned against groups inciting against the state and its institutions or exploiting national sentiment for their own agendas.

Highlighting the importance of the Palestinian cause, the Prime Minister reiterated that the steadfastness of the Palestinian people on their land remains Jordan's unwavering goal and priority. However, he emphasized that this goal must not come at the expense of Jordan's security, stability, or the safety of its people and land. He assured that Jordan's borders and security are safeguarded by the vigilance of the Arab Army and security forces.

The Prime Minister called on all Jordanians to remain vigilant against any attacks on the nation's identity, institutions, and core values. He stressed the state's duty to maintain security and stability amidst regional crises and conflicts and to protect its citizens. When it comes to Jordan's security, stability, and sovereignty, he declared that no other priority can precede Jordan, and the state's decision is final and non-negotiable.

Reaffirming the nation's stance, the Prime Minister stated that Jordanians will not tolerate any attempts to undermine Jordan's honorable role or allow the exploitation of national sentiment resulting from the brutality faced by Palestinians and the tragedy in Gaza. While supporting the right of Jordanians to express solidarity, the state is equally committed to upholding the law and preventing any transgressions against its institutions.

The Prime Minister concluded by emphasizing the importance of unity among Jordanians in their loyalty and belief in the nation and its leadership. He underscored the need to resist any attempts to undermine national unity and identity. He also highlighted the government's efforts to strengthen the economy, advance modernization, and fulfill regional obligations, which are essential for safeguarding Jordan's future amidst regional challenges.
