Prime Minister Muhammad al-Sudani met today with a number of clerics from various components in Nineveh, tribal sheikhs, notables, representatives of professional and sectoral federations and syndicates, as well as a group of activists in the province.

Al-Sudani expressed, according to a statement by his media office, his pride in being in Nineveh Governorate, which he calls a mini-Iraq, with what it represents of the diversity of nationalities, religions, sects, and honorable components, which is an element of strength for Iraqi society.

The Prime Minister affirmed the government’s interest, since the beginning of its duties, in the governorates, where the governors are discussed in the smallest details and there are teams to follow up the decisions, indicating that the priorities of the government program were set based on an accurate reading and diagnosis of what our governorates need.

He explained that his visits to the governorates are carried out according to a specific program, and after their completion, a specialized team will be present in the governorate with powers from all ministries for a week or more to follow up the issues that have been diagnosed and take decisions regarding them, and to submit some of them to the Council of Ministers for approval, and the decisions will be followed up with the governorate.

Al-Sudani stressed that the province is on the verge of an economic service process, which will be the basis for stability and security in it, stressing the need to move away from partisan quotas to strengthen the state and its institutions, with the aim of achieving the development we aspire to, and investing in the opportunity for political and security stability that Iraq is witnessing, which coincides with the regional stability of the region, which includes providing an opportunity for us to establish more work and take a step forward.
