Erbil: Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq Masrour Barzani received Lower House Speaker Ahmad Safadi in Erbil on Saturday. During the meeting, Barzani emphasized Jordan's significant role in advancing regional security and stability and acknowledged the Kingdom's efforts to foster peace in the Middle East. He urged the strengthening of relations between Jordan and the Kurdistan region across various fields.
According to Jordan News Agency, Safadi reiterated Jordan's commitment, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, to tirelessly work towards achieving regional security and stability. He highlighted Jordan's dedication to ending wars and conflicts and enhancing regional cooperation.
Safadi also underscored the importance of deepening ties between Jordan, the Republic of Iraq, and the Kurdistan Region. The meeting highlighted mutual interests in fostering stronger bilateral relations to address regional challenges.
The meeting was also attended by the Jordanian Consul General in the Kurdistan Region, Fuad Majali, indicating the importance of diplomatic engagement in these discussions.
